Meet the photographer:
Born on the vibrant south-eastern coast of Europe, where mountains meet the sea and wildlife still thrives, Marash Lekocaj—known as Mashi—formed an early and enduring bond with nature. Though now based in the United States, horses remain the defining presence in his work, embodying freedom, resilience, and quiet strength.
Travelling across continents, Mashi photographs animals in their natural environments with patience and reverence, favouring authenticity over staged imagery.
Beyond wildlife, his lens turns to history through meticulously crafted portraiture, including exclusive recreations of John Dillinger, America’s most wanted man of the 1930s. He will also debut a powerful series in Australia documenting the lives of Albania’s highlanders in the rugged Albanian Alps.
This year, Mashi presents a new Australian release featuring wild horses, the John Dillinger 1930s collection, the Albanian highlanders project, and the Modern Luxury – America portrait series.
