ABOUT THE ARTIST 

Jane is a wife and mother to two small children living in the suburbs of Sydney. Although she’s lived in the City for more than half of her life, she’s a country girl at heart and would love to one day own some land and livestock... she’s just got to twist the arm of her accountant husband. She’s a trained Early Childhood Teacher and loved teaching the Creative Arts to her students.

HER ART JOURNEY SO FAR
Jane has always enjoyed making things with her hands and bringing things to life with colour but it was a trip to Orange in regional NSW a few years ago that really inspired her to pick up a paintbrush. She visited a beautiful retail space called “Jumbled” who showcase paintings by talented Australian Artists on their walls. The artworks that she saw were overpoweringly beautiful... they spoke to her heart on a deep level and it just evoked a passion in her. She quickly feel in love with painting and connected with some lovely artists on Instagram who shared their knowledge with her. She was delighted with how generous and encouraging the art community were. She is certainly still developing her style but learnt quickly that she loves colour and abstract styles. She enjoys experimenting with irregular shapes and finds immense beauty in imperfection. She is enjoying the process of painting so much - it’s given her freedom, peace and an overwhelming happiness that she never anticipated. Brush stokes have become an almost therapy - a way to unwind from the stress of the day. She is evolving, growing and learning and can’t wait to continue exploring this new found love for abstract art on more of a full time basis next year.
